Learning how to live with questions, doubts, and changing beliefs is a journey. We at Recovering from Religion are intimately familiar with this path, and we are here to help you. Our passion is connecting people with support, resources, community, and most of all, hope. We have two forms of support available below: PEER support and PROFESSIONAL support.
Just click the green chat bubble at the bottom left-hand corner of the page. We try to offer a 24-hour service, and strive to respond within a few minutes, but if no agent is available, please try again later, or use our Schedule a Conversation feature.
We will attempt to contact you at the scheduled time.
Please schedule a time at least 72 hours in advance so that we can plan accordingly.
We have 45 peer support groups hosted in six countries, which are a mix of in-person and virtual groups. Click the button below to see our meeting calendar.

Live-streamed RfRx Talks take place every Monday over Zoom at 7pm Central time, and feature a wide variety of speakers including leading experts in religious trauma, relationships, grieving, critical thinking, and so much more.
The first hour is the topic discussion, which is followed by a Q&A session where questions collected from the Zoom chat are used to continue the conversation. After the Q&A we allow everyone to unmute and enjoy a hangout with the guest and co-hosts.

Recordings of previous RfRx episodes can be found in both the YouTube RfRx playlist and on the RfR Podcast.
The Secular Therapy Project will connect you with a therapist who will provide evidence-based and non-religious treatment. Our network of skilled and licensed therapists is always growing.
Our leadership and volunteers have a unique understanding of how much religion can cause harm, and we are collectively heartbroken and afraid for our clients, ourselves, and the many others that will be directly harmed by the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
It has always been the mission of Recovering from Religion to provide hope, healing, and support to people who are suffering from religious trauma or coping with oppressive religious systems and ideas. Upholding this mission is a great privilege for each of us. It is our intention to embrace the needs of those who may call upon us for guidance in regards to finding safe abortion options, safe mental health resources, and safe peer support.
We believe that bodily autonomy is sacrosanct, that people deserve kind and compassionate healthcare, and that theology should have no bearing on legislation.
If you need to talk to someone about this, reach out by chat or phone. Or visit our resources page for links to valuable information related to abortion.
